Andrea Mazzanti, Full Professor
Andrea Mazzanti received the Laurea and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Modena, Italy, in 2001 and 2005, respectively. During the summer of 2003, he was with Agere Systems, Allentown, PA as an Intern. From 2006 to 2009, he was Assistant Professor with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. In January 2010, he joined the University di Pavia where he is now Full Professor. He has authored over 100 technical papers. His main research interests cover device modeling and IC design for high-speed communications, RF and millimeter-wave systems. Dr. Mazzanti has been a member of the Technical Program Committee of the IEEE Custom Integrated Circuit Conference (CICC) from 2008 to 2014, IEEE European Solid State Circuits Conference (ESSCIRC) and IEEE International Solid State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) from 2014 to 2018. He has been Associate Editor for the Transactions on Circuits and Systems-I from 2012 to 2015 and Guest Editor for special issues of the Journal of Solid State Circuits dedicated to CICC 2013-14 and ESSCIRC-2015. Since 2017, he has been serving as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Letters.

Francesco Svelto, Full Professor
Francesco Svelto received the Laurea and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from UniversitĂ di Pavia, Italy, in 1991 and 1995, respectively. During 1995-1997 he held an industry grant for research in RF CMOS. In 1997 he was appointed Assistant Professor at UniversitĂ di Bergamo, and in 2000, he joined UniversitĂ di Pavia, where he is now Full Professor. His current interests are in the field of RF and high speed integrated circuits.
Dr. Svelto has been technical advisor of RFDomus Inc., a start-up he co-founded in 2002 dedicated to highly integrated GPS receivers. After merging with Glonav Inc. (Ireland), RFDomus has been acquired by NXP Semiconductors in 2007.
Presently he is the Director of the Studio di Microelettronica, a joint scientific laboratory between UniversitĂ di Pavia and STMicrolectronics, dedicated to research in Microelectronics, with emphasis to mm-wave systems for wireless communications, high-speed serial links and read-write channels for hard disk-drives.
Dr. Svelto is member of the technical program committee of the International Solid State Circuits Conference and has been a member of Custom Integrated Circuits Conference, Bipolar/ BiCMOS Circuits Technology Meeting and European Solid State Circuits Conference. He served as Associate Editor of IEEE Journal of Solid State Circuits (2003-2007), and as Guest Editor for a special issue on the same journal in March 2003. He is co-recipient of the IEEE Journal of Solid State Circuits 2003 Best Paper Award, and he has been elevated IEEE Fellow in 2013.

Andrea Bilato, Post-doc Researcher
Andrea Bilato received the B.S. degree in Information Engineering, M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D degree from the University of Padua, Padua, Italy, in 2015, 2017 and 2021, respectively. During his Ph.D., from 2019 to 2020, he was an intern with Infineon Technologies AG, Munich, Germany, where he worked on transceiver front-end circuits for radar systems operating beyond 100 GHz. Since 2021 He is a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering, University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy. His current research interests include the IC design of D-band transceiver building blocks for wireless high-speed communications.Â

Guglielmo M. De Filippi Tedeschi, PhD Candidate
Guglielmo De Filippi was born in Milan in 1993. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronics Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2017 and 2020, respectively.Â
In 2019 he was thesis student at the ARPLab at Politecnico di Milano where he focused on mm-Wave building blocks for wireless communications.
In 2020 he joined the AIC Lab at University of Pavia as Ph.D. student. His current research interest is in D-Band building blocks for high-data-rate wireless transceivers.Â

Lorenzo Piotto, PhD Candidate
Lorenzo Piotto was born in Padua, Italy, in 1994. He received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronics Engineering at the University of Padua in 2016 and 2018, respectively. From 2019 to 2020 he was with Infineon Technologies Austria, Villach, where he worked on the design and verification of mm-Wave blocks for wireless communication.
In 2021 he joined the University of Pavia where he is working towards his Ph.D. His current research interest is in the design of building blocks for high data-rate backhaul communications operating in D-band

Lorenzo Serra, PhD Candidate
Lorenzo Serra was born in Pavia in 1998. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from University of Pavia in 2020 and 2023, respectively. In 2023 he joined the AIC Lab at University of Pavia as a Ph.D. student. His current research interest is in the design of D-Band building blocks for wireless communication systems.

Jismal Jamal, PhD Candidate
Jismal Jamal was born in Cochin, India in 1995. He received his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology in 2017 and his M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pavia in 2023. From 2017 to 2021, he worked as a Hardware Design Engineer at Gadgegon Smart Systems. In 2023, he joined the industrial Ph.D. program at the University of Pavia. The program allows collaboration with the AIC Lab at the University and STMicroelectronics from the industrial end, where he carries forward his master's work on building various automotive radar blocks at 77GHz.

Mahmoud M. Pirbazari, Former PhD Student and Post-doc Researcher (2023)
Mahmoud Mahdipour was born in Rasht (Iran) in 1987. He received his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Tabriz (Iran) and Urmia university (Iran) in 2010 and 2014,
respectively. He joined the AIC Lab at University of Pavia in June 2017 as a researcher and enrolled on a PhD program by October of the same year.
During his second degree at Urmia University, he worked on Analog Mixed-Signal Integrated circuits. His main focus was on designing amplifiers and also analog circuits for fuzzy logic controllers. For his final thesis, he designed a high-speed accurate gain-stage for high-speed pipeline ADCs. Moreover, he has taught a few laboratory courses on electronics at Urmia University.
At AIC Lab, Mahmoud is working on millimeter-wave integrated circuits and he is involved in designing a frequency multiplier for the European H2020 project “D-band Radio Solution Enabling up to 100 Gbps reconfigurable Approach for Meshed beyond 5G networks”.
Mahmoud has been the author/co-author of 5 journal papers and also a conference paper. Moreover, he has collaborated with the Microelectronics Journal and IEEE Access as a reviewer.Â

Fabio Quadrelli, Former PhD Student (2023)Â
Fabio Quadrelli was born in Padua in 1992. He received the B.Sc. in Information Engineering and the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Padua, Padua, Italy, in 2015 and 2017, respectively. From 2017 to 2019 he was with Infineon Technologies Austria, Villach, Austria, where he worked on the design of ultra-low phase noise VCOs. Since 2019 he has been with University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy, where he is working towards his Ph.D. His current research is focused on the design of RF and millimiter-wave building blocks for wireless communication systems.
